Finished this horse last week. This is my 3rd try at oil painting. When I first started painting, in my younger years, it was with acrylics. Waiting for the paint to dry is still a new experience for me!
I like this one! You don't have to necessarily wait for the paint to dry....just keep painting over the wet paint! (I have done hundreds of oil paintings and I always paint wet-into-wet.)
To tell you the truth there was another, 4th unfinished picture, that I am still doing.... On that I started to do what you described. I haven't done much on it. It became overwhelming for me. It sits where I left it a while back... an unfinished picture.

I like the acrylic and the oil version... they both capture an ease and pleasure in the rider.
Thank you, Natalie.
