This was inspired by Lost in Space, Space Trader. I just saw Torin Thatcher in a several other tv programs. Perry Mason for one. I like him best in the movie The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, as Sokurah the Magician. And of course Star Trek!
Also, I love Dr. Smith dress in his artist smock!

Day 547, Lost in Space
Lost in Space on the back of watercolor paper. This drawing was inspired by the Lost in Space episode "The Raft".
I am watching the Perry Mason episode, on dvd... "The Case of the Impatient Partner". It has Leslie Parrish from the Star Trek episode, "Who Mourns for Adonais?" She is the most interesting part of the whole episode.

Day 548, Lost in Space Hydroponic Garden
Well... This is is just a doodle like ... on the back of watercolor paper. It is Penny's job to take care of the Hydroponic Garden.

Day 552, The Jupiter 2, Penny and Will Robinson
On the back of watercolor paper. This is one I drew last year. I think I did it once but here it is again. Now I want to go and find it.

Day 553, J5 and Penny Robinson in The Haunted Lighthouse
This is a picture I drew over a year ago. It has taken at least a year to get around to painting it. Even though this episode of Lost of Space has some real corny moments it is one of my favorites. Those favorite moments include, the wind storm and a lift off. Both are fun. Then enters J5 whose most annoying features are his silly elf ears and eye makeup. He plays off Dr. Zachary Smith bringing about the worst in both himself and Smith. Penny is endearing, her best moments being when she is with J5. I love when she is lighting the candle. Dr. Smith meeting "The Zaybo" is interesting, at that point the Zaybo doesn't have hair or growl. I have a question, can someone tell me, how does John Robinson know that the relief ship from earth will be there (to the Lightship F12) in three years?? That is what he says at least, just before the episode ends.

Day 555, Jupiter 2 Landing Site
Something I did on the spur of the moment in an art class with some of our kids. They were drawing and painting apples I think. I just couldn't get into drawing and painting apples.

Day 556, A Visit to a Hostile Planet
It is the Earth of the past, the Robinsons are "the aliens."Here John Robinson and Major Don West are checking out a vintage car (1947). Robinson says, "Last time I saw a car like this it was in a museum." Sorry to say ... Dr Smith is annoying in this episode.

Day 557, Lost in Space Magic Mirror
This took me a couple of hours to do in watercolor. And maybe about 2 hours to draw. Magic Mirror is my favorite Lost in Space episode. There is Dr. Smith listening to his heart. The rest of the family wants to know where Penny is. In the background I used one of Angela Cartwright's Shadow stamps.

Day 559, Mermaids Swimming
About half the time that do a watercolor I do something on the back of the watercolor page. This is one such "back of,"... a mermaid, rather mermaids. I don't spend as much time on these as some of my other art. Maybe that is what is wrong with me. The stuff that really matters to me I labor over for too long.

Day 560, Dr. Maureen Robinson, and Judy Robinson
There is the Jupiter 2 and the freezing tubes in the background. I think those tubes were used in the Star Trek episode The Empath.

Day 561, Space Primevals a Lost in Space Watercolor
I am going to use the back of watercolor paper. This first one is the front. Later I am going to do the same picture using the back of watercolor paper. This is the scene in the chariot, just before Smith sees the "cave" man who really isn't a cave man afterall.

Day 562: Space Primevals
A drawing inspired by the Lost in Space episode Space Primevals. Doctor Smith is trying to stabilize "the bomb" which is to stop the volcano from blowing. Major Don West is drivingthe chariot. Smith is having a cow as the contraptions swings from side to side.

Day 563, Space Creature
I did this in watercolor before. But I can't resist doing it again. I like that Dr. Smith is in his pajamas! This was inspired originally by The Space Creature episode of Lost in Space. It is at the very beginning of the episode where Penny is passing Dr. Smith's quarters just as the retro rockets are being fired. This of course is not how I drew it. This time I used some of Angela Cartwright's Shadow Stamps to make some creatures in the background. My original is here.

Day 566, Dr. Zachary Smith Sprouts Ears
Well, he had longish, curly, green hair, and lots of muscles in Collision of the Planets. Then he was taken over by an alien computer in The Cave of the Wizards.... looking kind of silveryish. I guess in my Lost in Space world he can have strange ears. That is not the Jupiter 2 in the background.

Day 568, First Season Lost in Space ... Dr. Zachary Smith and John Robinson
This is part of the picture I drew while waiting for my car one morning. I plan to do it over in watercolor but I forgot about it... while I am doing art it is mostly lots of cats, I have been working on some art for a kids book.

Day 569, Baby Robot B9
Oh well, I try and sometimes this is what happens. My perspective is off. I think I intended to put him further away. But further away I couldn't have gotten all those details that I gave him. Judy and Penny are enjoying him. It is reminiscent of the The Mechanical Men.

Day 571, Major Don West
I got flagged once. I believe it was for the Lost in Space Laser Rifle. Now... if you were Lost in Space wouldn't you want a laser rifle? Or would you let the aliens get you? I believe the post flagged was found here. I mean it was hardly a rifle... just most Dr. Zachary Smith hiding behind a rock.

Day 572, Lighthouse in Acrylic
I guess that I am feeling rather poorly. Thinking negative thoughts and not doing any art. I got to stop doing that. I did this one about a month ago.

Day 574, The Forbidden World
Using the back of watercolor paper here.... Inspired by a scene from the Lost in Space episode of The Forbidden Planet. The red headed Tiabo was played by Wally Cox. I alway enjoy watching him even though this episode is corny. He was in Marilyn Monroe's last unfinished movie Somethings Got to Give. The Forbidden Planet episode has the Lost in Space version of Big Bird... Tiabo's pet which he leads around on leash. In the background I used one of Angela Cartwright's Shadow stamps.

Day 577, Girl From Green Dimension
In the very beginning of the Lost in Space episode, The Girl From the Green Dimension, there is a scene where the Robinson Family has gathered in front of the Jupiter 2. They listen to Dr. Smith and Will tell how the Green Girl has returned. It is night and Dr. Smith is in a tizzy! This is a turn around... day time picture.

Day 579, Dream Monster
Inspired by a scene from the Lost in Space episode, Dream Monster. This is where Dr. John Robinson is getting ready to take care of Raddion ... rather ... shoot with the Laser. Poor Sesmar! No offense!
